Leopard Gecko Pets

The Gecko is located in alot of warm climates all-around the globe.

Gecko's can be spotted in a lot of warm areas, they are wide spread, pose no menace to people and are quite adaptive.

They do not mind the presence of people and will live peacefully with humans.

There are close to 750 species of these fine reptiles , that are split into 4 sub categories, Eublepharinae, Sphaerodactylinae, Diplodactylinae and lastly Gekkoninae.

Leopard Geckos can be held easily as pets and make a beautiful element to a lizard collection. The best preference for you is a captively bread variety.

The price starts from $20 to as high as $3000. Sizes range from 3-4 inches for new young and right up to 12 inches for some of the giants. The common size of most adult geckos is 8 inches.

The lifetime of a gecko can be as lasting as 20 years or even more in captivity. The form of care is deterministic of these extended life spans.

A completely happy gecko is a long lived one. As soon as the preference to raise a gecko has been made, getting necessary tips about how to accommodate and care for it is basic to make sure it is a pleasing experience for the gecko and its caretaker.

As soon as you have brought home your gecko, formulated its housing, set up its food needs, and let it settle in, it is time to get aquainted. So in general, try not to handle your geckos on a regular basis until they get comfortable for a few days and are at least 6 inches long.

One final note about gecko handling basics. As soon as your gecko is old enough, it is best to take a seat on the floor, and let your gecko to crawl around through your loose fingers hand-over-hand for 10 to 15 minutes per day until acclimated to the touch.

This procedure takes up to seven days. do not, ever hold the gecko’s tail, or it may be dropped, though quite often it can regenerate in under 45 days.
